November 2022 Statement
Jeremy Jordan is a founder director of Changing Home and has seen pretty much everything thrown at his organsation over the last 20 years.
While recognizing potential tough times for the economy in 2023, Jeremy highlights that a desire to move property will always be there. He remains confident of the market holding up well, citing the buoyancy, flexibility, energy and development of Changing Home as well placed for the future.
On the current economic challenges…
“Obviously it’s been a fairly difficult time for many over the last few years and with the economic downturn, that looks likely to continue.
“However, the property market has held up really well and has even flourished in recent times. Certainly we at Changing Homes are enjoying busy times and while the market always takes a bit of a dip in the lead up to Christmas, I can ensure you people are still looking to buy, sell, let and rent properties as much as ever.
“We don’t see the downward spin the press have highlighted and our experience is positive. That’s why we’re increasing our product range, strengthening our team and investing in technology more than ever.
“So if I was looking to buy, sell or rent just at the moment, I would still be positive about the future.”
On offering mortgages through Changing Home…
“Mortgages have been in the news pretty consistently lately so I’m delighted we’ve joined forces with Chester’s Moneytree Wealth Management to offer their range of mortgages and equity release products to our customers.
“They're experts in their field, easy to talk to and can help throughout the mortgage process, from start to finish. Amy Smith and the Moneytree team are as committed to working alongside their customers as us. It's a great combination
“We receive many requests to help potential home buyers choose the right mortgage solution so working alongside one of Chester’s leading mortgage providers and having everything under one roof is a logical step,”
On increasing the Changing Home team…
“And it’s really exciting times for us just at the moment with two new faces onboard to boost the Lettings Team.
“Sarah Garland brings bags of experience while we’ve also got an injection of youth with young Charlie Fleet joining us. Charlie’s new to our industry but arrives brimming with ideas.
“Changing Home is a small, close knit team and we pride ourselves on our consistency. We’ve a pretty low turnover of staff and we’re well settled – that’s how we like it. We know Sarah and Charlie will be great assets to our team. They’ve certainly both integrated well into the business from the off.”
On 20 years on the high street…
“We were 20 years old in 2022 and I think it took us a bit by surprise to be honest. We’re justifiably proud of how we’ve moved on though and ‘come of age’.
“When we started we never intended to be a big organization with multiple offices – we just wanted to find our own place in the market. And that’s exactly what we’ve done. We’re really comfortable in our own skin and although there’ve obviously been personnel changes over the years, we’ve had people who’ve stayed with us for long passages of time. It’s great too that so many of those who’ve moved on still keep in touch.
“One of the highlights from across the years – and it may sound a bit strange – was working through the 2007 recession and property crash. It was really rewarding to come out of it relatively unscathed and I guess you could also say that about the pandemic.”
On the future…
“So right now things are in good shape and we’re ready for the challenges of what looks like being a tough winter. We’re looking forward to the next 20 years… although I might suggest there’ll be one or two personnel changes!
