Changing Home – working through lockdown

As our day to day lives change and the world comes to terms with the coronavirus pandemic, the health of our family and friends is at the front of our minds and daily life has been turned upside down.

Things have obviously changed at Changing Home too, with Chester a very different place than just a few weeks ago.

In line with Government guidelines we’ve closed our offices and our team are now home based. Smart technology means we can be as effective as ever, keeping in touch with  customers, landlords, tenants and suppliers. Laptops, mobile phones and kitchen tables are our new tools of the trade.

Keeping tenants and landlords up to speed

For our lettings business, staying in touch is crucial, keeping tenants and landlords updated with the huge array of information and advice coming from local authority, government and other agencies. It’s not just about finances, but safety too.

So if we can answer any questions, whether you’re a landlord, tenant or just someone involved in lettings, or even if you’re self-isolating, do call.

Properties still need repairing, boilers will malfunction and of course gas checks still need to take place. We’ll be ensuring that whatever possible will happen and everyone stays safe. Tim and Oliver are here to help.

Sales remain busy

Prior to lockdown the market was strong although it’s now difficult to complete some of the planned sales. However, most solicitors are working from home to keep things ticking over so transactions can be finalised when the time is right.

At present it’s not possible to view properties that are on the market but we do have customers registering interest to view once things change.

Preparing to sell your property…and what’s happening with mortgages

For many now considering selling their property, we can offer advice on how to prepare for when the timing’s right.

Perhaps you’re looking at mortgages as the base rate is at an all-time low.  We’ll keep an eye on how this will impact mortgage products – for example, it could be a great time to re-mortgage. We can keep you up to date.

Keeping in touch is vital

There’s far more to think about than just property. Local authorities are suspending some services. This affects us all. We won’t have all the answers but we’ve an ear to the ground all the time. You can call or email us and we’ll do our very best.

In the meantime, keep safe!
