The Government has announced proposals for major changes to the buying and selling process.

The aim is to create an efficient house-buying system that:

• Reduce costs
• Minimise delays
• Reduce failed transactions
• Ensure estate agents are updated throughout the process to keep our clients well informed

We understand that:

• Sellers & agents will be legally required to provide key property information upfront including information on the condition of the home.
• buyers and sellers will have the option entering into binding contracts earlier in the process will limit people to provide greater certainty
• There will be the introduction of mandatory qualifications and a code of practice for estate agents.
• Consumer information will be provided by the government about estate agents and solicitors providing performance data.
• The use of digital tolls will be expanded to include digital ID and data sharing platforms.

We at Changing Home warmly welcome the government’s commitment to improving the house buying process. The need for greater transparency and regulation of our industry is overdue.
